Joy’s on the Avenue is a private creative salon and boutique venue in Brisbane, built to support professional and emerging artists with flexible access to an inspiring environment. The Artist in Residence program is the most direct way in.
It is, first and foremost, a practical program. A residency gives you a versatile, well-appointed room you can genuinely use to move your work forward — whatever stage that work is at, and whatever it happens to need.
Sometimes that means a place to rehearse. Sometimes it’s somewhere to record content, launch an album, host an intimate performance, present new work, or simply have uninterrupted time to think.
The residency exists to give artists access to a space that adapts to the different stages of a practice — flexible, professionally presented, and led by you rather than by us.

Studio time, rehearsal rooms, recording spaces and launch venues are usually booked separately, priced by the hour, and rarely beautiful. A residency at Joy’s gives you one considered space that can be all of those things — without the logistics of assembling them yourself.
